Position: Offshore - Instrument Technician

Responsibility and authority
Key tasks and responsibilities
Perform condition monitoring and troubleshooting of instruments, Information Technology, communication and Control systems as per Computerised Maintenance Management System;
Perform instrument and Control System maintenance;
Perform maintenance of Information Technology, communication and navigation systems;
Perform maintenance of metering systems;
Control calibration appliances and test instruments;
Maintain Ex rating of instrument equipment as per design;
Assist in pre-commissioning and commissioning;
Perform instrument spare parts and consumables stock control;
Assist in fault finding and troubleshooting of shutdowns;
Liaise with other departments for coordination of maintenance activities;
Use the Permit to Work system. Prepare Permits. Follow the Permit to Work procedures;
Use the Computerized Maintenance Management System. Produce reports, update records, generate work orders;
Prepare required reports;
Ensure that vendors and contractors are managed safely and effectively;
Undertake training relevant to the position requirements;
On-the-job-training of colleagues and trainees;
Member of Emergency Response Team.

Qualification requirements:
Education
According to Training Matrix.
Experience:
One year experience as an Instrument Technician with Process Plant operation.
Can be substituted with three years’ experience on FPSO or other offshore installations in other positions.
Experience with Control Systems.
Interpersonal skills
Good inter-personal and communications skills;
Knowledge:
According to Client Competence Assurance Matrix;
According to client English Language Proficiency Matrix.
Good computer and use of computerized maintenance management skills.
